Grooming Pets with Andis Pet Clippers

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

Cutting MachineWhile playing with my pet dog named Huskar, I suddenly realized that he needs a bit of trimming so I tried to use an ordinary pet clipper. However, it did not work pretty well with my dog so I tried looking for Andis Pet Clippers. Of all the pet clippers manufactured by Andis, I loved the latest pet clipper product the most because it is very light in weight. It is perfect for my very hyperactive Huskar. He loves playing around so much and that is what I love so much about him. When I started using an Andis pet clipper, grooming Huskar became effortless and less complicated. I don’t need to beg him to stay put while I trim his hair. I can just run around and play with him and I leave the grooming process to the pet clipper. With Andis pet clipper, grooming has become a lot enjoying than before.

What Owner is the Pomeranian a Nice Dog Breed For?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Those searching for a new dog in classes such as gentle owners or families with older children could perhaps view the Pomeranian to be a nice breed of dog. The Pomeranian is often fragile with children and subsequently they can be not the best choice for a household pet. They do not always need to have a yard and in general are more content in cooler temperatures. The Pomeranian can be traced back to the region of Pomerania during the mid-1700s and they were initially valued as a sheepherder. They can become companions well around multiple animals. Pomeranians typically enjoy a length of life at 12-15 years and their leading health troubles can be teeth and eye problems. Pomeranians naturally boast a busy and curious temperament and they are proven as highly bright. To prevent behavior issues, they needs to be offered day-to-day walks or runs that match their fairly high exercise prerequisites. Pomeranians are simple when it comes to grooming, with needs of brushing twice a week. Males typically measure a weight of 3-7 pounds and a height of 8-11 inches, and girl dogs typically have a heaviness of 3-7 pounds with a tallness of 8-11 inches which means they are a tiny-scaled dog breed.

Very Simple Things That You Can Do for a Dog with Separation Anxiety

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Separation Anxiety In Dogs, Cure Separation Anxiety in Dogs, My Dog ...People really get worried when they know that their dog has separation anxiety. A big concern about separation anxiety in dogs is the fact that their dog is suffering from a serious psychological condition and that their means of coping is not really productive (infact it is even destructive). Since it is a big problem in dogs, humans need to do their best to help treat the problem. The next paragraphs will explain some of the things that you can do to your dog to ease the problem.

The first thing that you need to give your dog is a good place to sleep in. Shelter is one of the basic necessities that a dog has and it takes more than just putting a roof over their heads. You must make their living environment very comfortable by giving them a warm place to stay, some toys, and even some blankets which have your scent on them. Always clean their area too and you need to potty train them as well.

Another thing that you can do for your dog is behaviour modification. A lot of people think that this is only about training your dog to be obedient but actually it goes both ways. You need to train your dog to obey you at all times and you also need to train yourself to not give into the behaviour of your dog. Do not give the dog an idea that their whining, or barking is causing you to not leave. If this is the case, you are only feeding their anxiety. It would be like pouring gasoline over fire in an attempt to put it out.

Now that you have made sure that their place is clean and that their behaviour (and yours too) is in check, you need to remember at all times to walk your dog. Some people get caught up with all other treatments that they forget the one thing that makes dogs happy. Walk your dog around your neighbourhood and let him or her get familiar with the environment.

Fighter Fish: Various Things That You May Be Doing to Cause It to Appear Sick

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

When you want to find out the right information to help you take care of your sick Fighter Fish, you may have a lot of research to do. There are some common things that can happen which will make your little friend appear to be ill. Here we will talk about some of the things that may be happening to your fish, as well as what you can do about them.

The first thing to consider is whether your fish is actually ill, or just damaged. If you have a Fish Bowl Aquarium that is too small, then the water may not be circulating enough to keep the fish healthy. A good rule is to make sure that the aquarium is at least five gallons. If it is smaller, you may want to try having your fish in a bigger tank before assuming he is ill.

Another thing that you should do is look up the common symptoms of having parasites or a disease. If your fish has a fungal disease, you may need to get antifungal medications for Fighter Fish. These can be found online, and so can other medications that may be necessary to help him heal. You should make sure that you know how to administer them and that the water in your Fish Bowl Aquarium is clean enough so as to not perpetuate the illness.

The third thing that you may think about is whether or not your fish is just suffering with damage from things that you have in the Fish Bowl Aquarium. If his fins are falling apart, you may assume he is sick. However, if you have plants in the bowl that are rough on the edges, then this may be the only thing causing your fish to appear ill. Fighter Fish do not do well with plastic plants since many of them are quite rough and can tear their fins. If you have this type of decoration in your aquarium, then you should remove it immediately and replace it with real plants.

The main thing to do is find a place online where you can turn for trustworthy advice. You will want to consider the symptoms that your Fighter Fish is experiencing and make sure that you can diagnose what is wrong. If you have clean water in a five gallon Fish Bowl Aquarium, the correct food, and no rough plastic plants, then you can at least be relatively sure that you are not causing the problem yourself.

Once you are sure that you are not causing the problem, you can begin to find a solution. You may need to purchase medications for Fighter Fish, or you might have to get a new tank. The key is to find out what is wrong so that you can deal with the situation appropriately.

I’m Still There

Friday, December 9th, 2011

Well, it’s been a couple days since I have mentioned the dog cancer supplements company that I work for and the drama surrounding whether or not I was going to quit. Well, I am still working there. I just haven’t had the courage to call them and tell them that I am done. And I have also been wondering whether or not I should give them two weeks notice or just quit. Obviously, two weeks notice is the ideal situation but when I finally do quit, I just want to be done. I don’t want to deal with the hassles of the mean customers writing in about their dogs. Or have to call back the people that have called wanting to know all about the latest supplement and whether or not it is going to save their dog.

It is all too much for me. I need to concentrate on my own business instead.

How Health Affects French Bulldog Training

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

The adage “health is wealth” is not famous for nothing. Truly, our health is one of the factors that can determine what we can and cannot do. The same principle is applicable to dogs including the breed French Bulldog. By being physically and mentally fit, there is no limit as to what a French Bulldog can’t do during French Bulldog training.

This breed is prone to having difficult in breathing when the temperature is hot due to their compacted airways and snub noses. This causes stress and eventually make learning impossible. In order to deal with this issue and proceed with the training, they must be given easy access to fresh water and shade and if possible, training should be done indoors to prevent such health problem from arising.

Back and spinal diseases as well as eye problems are also common to this breed. These problems must be addressed as soon as first sign appears to prevent it from progressing.

By ensuring that your pet stays physically and mentally healthy, you are taking one step towards your goal of having a healthy and happy Frenchie.

Learning About Home Cooked Dog Food

Thursday, November 24th, 2011

Because of the easy availability of information on the internet, dog owners are becoming more aware the benefits of home cooked dog food. Commercial dog food has become the most common way to feed our canine friends but in actuality, commercial dog food has only existed for about 100 years and has only been popular for about 50 years. Dogs have been living with humans for an estimated 15,000 years, and before the availability of store bought commercial dog food, dogs shared food with their human companions.Dogs would heat scraps from the hunt and whatever leftover food was given to them. The marketing of commercial dog foods suggests to us that the store bought food is the best food for them. This has evolved from the initial marketing message that commercial dog food was more convenient. When you look at commercial dog food, it’s hard to recognize exactly what the ingredients are because it is so processed. Kibble doesn’t resemble anything found in nature and wet dogfood from a can barely looks like anything you can recognize. If you were to ask yourself what would be the healthiest diet for the next 10 years of your life, canned processed food or fresh food, I think most people would take the obvious answer and go with fresh food. This same principle would apply to dogs as well.If you do decide to home cook meals for your dog, please do so in an educated manner. Find out what are some best practices for feeding dogs and definitely learn about what foods you should never feed a dog because they will react badly to it. Remember, feeding your dog haphazardly with pizza crust leftovers is not a good example of home cooked food for your dog. You need to have a good understanding of dog nutrition and plan his meal accordingly. Do not become intimidated because dog nutrition needs not be more complicated that it has to be. Even if you just supplement your dog’s meals with some home cooked dog food, you will be able to notice improvements within a few short weeks.

Memorable Pictures of Dog, Hunter and Prey

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

One common scene where you see pictures of dogs is on in field hunting. Often its owner will be holding pheasants, duck, or some other game bird. Of course what the photo doesn’t convey is how much time and effort you had to go into training the dog behind the scenes. What’s worse is those new to hunting dogs often don’t know exactly how to approach training. There is time spent in the field acclimating the dog to field conditions. Or learning how to shoot birds so you don’t shoot your dog. Clear sky should ring a bell. There are those that can show you how to train a bird dog. Using methods that get the most out of your dog’s instinctive nature and the talents they bring to the picture. Keeping in mind that no pup is too young or no vet of the field is too old to learn how to be a better hunter. Plus the right facilities might be able to help you learn a thing or two as well.

Why is My Betta Fish Dying?

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

There are a lot of reasons that your betta fish may begin dying. If you are wondering, why is my betta fish dying, then you need to follow this check list. The first thing you need to check for is whether or not there is any fungus on your betta fish. This would be represented by discoloration or loss of color, typically starting on the tail. While you are on the topic of the tail, look for any shredding or fraying of the tail. This could happen from other fish nipping the tail or something in the betta’s tank catching and cutting the tail.

Finally, you need to check for the quality of the water. You need to make sure you are using distilled water to fill your betta’s tank and that your tank is big enough to support adequate exchange of oxygen at the surface. If you are using a tall and narrow tank, switch to a wider one.

My Wife and Her Pets

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

It is so funny how after a short amount of time being married you really get to know someone well. Take my wife for example. I know that she loves pets. There is no and, if, or but about it. If she had to choose between saving a child from a burning building and saving a cat, well she would save the child but it would be a hard choice for her. I think her love of animals stems from the fact that growing up her and her family moved around a lot. The people that were in her life changed every few years, but her pets went with her every where they traveled. Now we make sure that her life is full of pets. We have had 2 ferrets, 3 cats, 1 dog, 20+ fish 2 chinchillas and 7 birds. Needless to say our life is one revolving trip to the pet supply store.

Adopting an Animal Requires an Informed Decision to Be Made

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Adopting an animal as a pet is exciting for almost all the members of a family. It is, however, wise to make an informed decision and for that a number of factors has to be taken into account. The selection of a pet animal should be based on the assessment of the pet animals’ needs and your ability to fulfill those needs.

One of the most important factors to consider is the food habits of the pet animal to be adopted and the food habits of the family that adopts it. Like if a pet that needs non vegetarian food is adopted in a family that is vegetarian, providing the pet with the requisite nourishment can be difficult and may result in the pet being unable to eat the food provided.

A pet is also a living organism and it is inevitable to age. It is important to consider this and adopting an animal only if you are capable to take care of it when needed.

Comfortable Outdoor Dog Beds for Large Dogs

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

It can be really tricky when you are taking care of large dogs. There are a lot of things to consider on your end. For one, the shelter that you have should be big enough to accomodate them. Another thing is the ground that they can use to run around and play because they need a wide space to run and get the exercise that they need.

Sleeping for them needs some customization too. You cannot just put out baskets for them to sleep in because they will never fit. Mats can be destroyed easily too by these large dogs so the best solution is to get outdoor dog beds for large dogs. This bed will provide comfort to large dogs because it is tailor made for them and their needs. They are sure to fit inside it and the material is made of sturdy components that can withstand their strength.

Cat Condo Health Benefits

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

The fun and enjoyment a cat tree condo brings to your pet is no secret. Hiding places, climbing walls, scratching posts and the like all provide a dream playground for your favorite pet. Less obvious however, though abundantly present, are the long-term health benefits these condos provide to the pet. An otherwise lazy, un-exercised cat can be stimulated in an unparalleled way when presented with a new, versatile toy such as this. Needless to say, the hours spend stalking, climbing and jumping around the various are infinitely healthier than excessive sleeping and eating, resulting a fitter, healthier and undoubtedly happier cat in general. This can certainly make trips to the vet less traumatic, especially on the wallet. Furthermore, the units provide a wonderful alternative form of exercise when the weather is anything other than glorious, saving the need for unpleasant confrontation when trying to ‘encourage’ your cat out of the door.
